Willow Waters Kromdraai

Posted by Adil Mungalee on Monday, November 19, 2018 Under: Sunday Afternoons
Sunday afternoons will never be the same.  Now I have gone and done it, I got the wife and the kids hooked onto the fishing and picnic scene, so now I am challenged every weekend to find the perfect spot.

One such fishing hideaway is Willow Waters in Kromdraai.  Just a quick 15 minute drive from Krugersdorp and you are rolling around at the foot of the Zwartkop Mountains. Here, nestled in a cosy spot is Willow Waters.  A property owned by a dashing Mr Kobus ( a very keen fisherman), the farm has 5 dams which hold a variety of fish.

His main attraction is the large carp dam which has all sized carp, blue kurper and spotted kurper as well. Kobus says that the largest carp caught in this dam so far has been a 15 kilo monster.  In the other dams you can catch bass, more kurper and even the odd barbel and yellow.

All in all we had a smashing time at Willow Waters.  If you are looking to take the family for a lekker braai picnic, you will find ample shaded areas and manicured grass all along the banks of the dams.

So if you want to have a fun filled Sunday afternoon at a place where the kids will enjoy the fishing, then I highly recommend visiting Willow Waters in Kromdraai
